How to Copy VHS to DVD

Copy VHS to DVD and save all of your favorite movies. Don't throw away your old VHS tapes and purchase DVDs. Save a bundle of money by copying VHS to DVD.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

To copy VHS to DVD, the movie must be transferred from the VHS tape to the computer. Once the movie is on the computer you can then burn it to a DVD.

  2. Step 2

Your computer must have a video capture card to capture the movie from the analog VHS tape and convert it to digital to use on the computer. The easiest way to do this is with a cord and software called "Dazzle". Once you purchase Dazzle you need to install the software on your computer.

  3. Step 3

Once you have the software installed you need to connect your Dazzle unit to both your VCR and your computer. Plug the Dazzle box into a USB port on your computer and you are ready to start copying VHS to DVD.

  4. Step 4

Insert a Blank DVD and initiate the transferring process. You must have a good idea of how long the VHS tape is because you will be required to enter how long the VHS tape is. Once you follow through all of the steps select "Begin Copying" and your VHS will be burned onto the DVD.
