Many women experience vaginal dryness, especially during and after menopause. Vaginal dryness can hit at any age. Vaginal dryness can be due to certain medications you take such as cold remedies or allergy medications. Vaginal dryness makes sex uncomfortable or many times even painful. This can begin a cycle of lack of desire because a woman will associate sex with pain or discomfort. There are some solutions to ease vaginal dryness.

  1. Step 1

    To increase vaginal moisture and ease vaginal dryness, have more sex or masturbate. More sex or masturbation will increase vaginal secretions easing dryness. Masturbation with your partner is a good alternative.

  2. Step 2

    Exercise to decrease vaginal dryness. Exercise will increase blood flow to the vaginal region and decrease vaginal dryness. Before starting any exercise routine consult your doctor.

  3. Step 3

    Over the counter or doctor prescribed medications are effective in increasing vaginal moisture. Do not be embarrassed to speak with your doctor regarding this issue. It is quite common.

  4. Step 4

    Calendula cream which is sold at health food stores, lessens vaginal dryness. Calendula cream is applied to the opening of the vagina. Follow all package directions for use.

  5. Step 5

    Vitamin E Oil is an effective safe alternative to decrease vaginal dryness. Break open a Vitamin E Oil capsule and apply contents to the opening of the vagina twice per day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not use remedies inside the vagina, only use on the opening.
  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine which can increase vaginal dryness.
