Things You'll Need:
- Bread machine 8 1/2 oz. of water (80 degrees F) 2 3/4 cups bread flour 1 tbsp. dry milk 1 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. Italian seasoning 2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese 2 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast

Step 1
Remove the bread pan from the bread machine. In some machines this is a metal cylinder that will turn to lock (or unlock) into place. Inside the pan there should be a knead bar, located in the bottom.

Pour the water into the bread pan.

Add the flour, dry milk, sugar, salt, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese to the pan with the water. When measuring the flour, spoon it into the measuring cup, and level the top with a knife. If you scoop out the flour with the measuring cup, you will get too much flour.

Tap the bread pan on the counter to settle and level the dry ingredients.

Place a ½ tbsp. of butter into each corner of the bread pan, on top of the dry ingredients.

Press an indentation in the center of the dry ingredients and place the yeast into the indentation.

Reinsert the bread pan in the bread machine and lock into place. Close the lid.

Follow the instructions on your bread machine for making French bread, and choose a light or medium color setting.
