How to Track USPS Shipments
If you are expecting a package that is being mailed through the United States Postal Service, you probably want to know how you can track the shipment. As an extra service, shippers can add the "Track & Confirm" option to their package in order to allow both parties to check on delivery status. You can track USPS shipments in several manners.

Retrieve the label number from the shipper that was assigned to the package. This number will be printed on their receipt when they add "Track & Confirm" to the shipment. It typically will be made up of 12 to 20 symbols and may include both numbers and letters.

Go to the USPS website. Go to their "Track & Confirm" page in order to find the search box to enter the label number. Select "Go" after you have copied the code into the box.

Read through the shipment log provided by USPS. Details will be given about where the package was mailed from as well as its current location. You can check daily to view updates on the status of the shipment.

Opt to receive tracking updates by email. After you review the shipment log, you can choose to receive tracking information through your email address. Click "Go" next to the "Track & Confirm Email" option. Enter your name and as many as three different email addresses that can be used to receive USPS tracking status. You need to set your notification level to either "Activity to Date" or "Future Activity." Once you hit "Submit," you will have the USPS logs sent to your email.

Remember to check your junk email folder if you sign up for USPS tracking updates by email. Set your filter to allow emails to be received from the United States Postal Service.
