How to Configure Linksys Wet54g

The Linksys WET54G is a wireless Ethernet bridge. The WET54g is used to connect a wired Ethernet-capable device such as a computer or video game console to your existing wireless network. The WET54G may also be used to extend the range of your wireless network in order to connect network users, for example, in different parts of a building. The WET54G is compatible with any Ethernet-capable device, regardless of the device's operating system. You can configure your Linksys WET54G through a browser-based interface.

      Attach the WET54G antenna to the WET54G. Plug one end of the Ethernet capable into the LAN port on the back of the WET54G. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into an Ethernet outlet on your network, or directly into your computer. Connect and plug in the WET54G power adapter.

      Place the product installation CD in your computer's CD drive. The setup utility will start automatically and display the Welcome screen. Click the "Setup" button on the Welcome screen to start the installation wizard.

      Follow the prompts in the wizard. When prompted for a password use the following in lower case:
      admin

      Enter a unique name for the WET54G when prompted. Enter the same wireless settings, such as the SSID, encryption and IP settings, that you use for your existing wireless network when prompted by the wizard. If you do not use the same settings, the WET54G will not be able to connect to your existing wireless network.

      Exit the wizard when it is finished. The WET54G can now be connected to any wired Ethernet device to provide wireless connectivity.
