How to Convert Movies to PSP Format for Free
If you want to watch your movies on your Sony PSP, you do not need to buy all of the movies in PSP format. In fact, you can convert all of your movies to the PSP format for free. The PSP file format is MP4. With the online file conversion website Media Convert, you can convert those movie files to the PSP format for free.

Launch your preferred web browser on your computer. Go to the website for Media Convert (see Resources). Media Convert works with all browsers, but some buttons are labeled differently in different browsers.

Look on the Media Convert page to make sure you are on the tab for "Local File Conversion." There are several tabs on the screen, but you can only do the PSP conversion on this tab.

Locate where it reads "File" right under the "Local File Conversion" tab heading. In most browsers you will see an empty field with a "Browse" button. In Safari, you will see a "Choose File" button instead. Click whichever of the two buttons are on your screen to select the movie file you want to convert.

Verify the "Input Format" file type. This field is to the right of the "File" field. It should auto detect your input file type; if it did not, use the pull down menu to select your input file type.

Scroll just below the advertisements until you see "Output Format" followed by two pull-down menu areas. Click on the second pull-down menu and select "PSP MP4 Video" as your output type.

Click the colored "OK" button to the right of your output selection to start the conversion. Depending on the size of your input file, you can expect to wait anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours for the file to convert. The conversion begins immediately, and the screen refreshes and changes as you wait. Once the conversion completes, the screen will update to reveal a download link for the new PSP file. Right-click on the link to download the PSP file to your computer.
