Inverse ponytails can look chic and sexy, and are remarkably easy to do at home. They're great for a night on the town or a day at the office and never go out of style.

Things You'll Need

• A hair brush Ponytail holders Hairspray Ribbon (optional)

Instructions

1. Brush the hair smooth and place the ponytail where you would like it to be. Secure the hair with an elastic hairband.

2. Pull the hairband back about one centimeter from the head. This will allow you room to work with the inverting process.

3. You can invert the hair one of two ways. The first is simple, just place your thumb and forefinger at the middle of the underside of the ponytail between the head and the hair band and then push them to the top. Use your other hand to put the ponytail hair between your thumb and finger. Once you have a good grip, just pull down.

4. The other way to do this requires a plastic ribbon and is similar to the "hairdini." Just fold the ribbon in half and push it through the hair in the same spot you would have put your fingers through. Once it's all the way through the hair, pull it up so you have a large loop and then place the ponytail hair though the loop. Pull down.

5. Tighten the hairband again and spray the hair with hairspray to keep it in place.
