How to Add a Fifth Person at a Disney Value Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort in Florida offers several levels of accommodations for guests. Walt Disney World's four least expensive resorts are All Star Music, All Star Movies, All Star Sports and Pop Century. These are otherwise known as value resorts. A family of four can often stay at a value resort for under $100 per night. Unfortunately, local laws limit the number of people who can stay in each resort room. Here are some ideas for larger families still hoping for value accommodations.

Things You'll Need

  • Phone or Internet access
  • Names and ages of people in your party
  • Credit card

Know the ages of the people in your party. If you have one child under the age of 3, he or she may stay in a value resort room with four adults or older children. Cribs are available from the resort.

Book connecting rooms if you have five or more people in your party and they are all over the age of 3. Fire codes prohibit you from all staying in one room. While this could hurt your budget, it's meant to keep you safe. Plus, it will give you double the space. A typical value room is less than 300 square feet.

Make a reservation for a family suite at the All Star Music Resort. They sleep up to six adults, plus a child in a crib. These rooms are 520 square feet and offer two full bathrooms as well as a kitchenette with microwave, sink and small fridge. Rates are comparable to two standard rooms.

Call your travel agent or Walt Disney World at (407) W-DISNEY to make or modify reservations. Or, go online to Disney's website at Then, enjoy your Disney vacation!

Tips & Warnings

  • Select Disney moderate resorts offer accommodations for five. All deluxe level resorts have rooms for five people as well. Look for special rate offers which might make these options more affordable for you. Or, consider staying off-site if the above options don't appeal to you. Many local hotels offer great rates and more space for larger families.
  • Remember, putting five adults or older children in a value room is not just breaking Disney policy; it's against the law. Also, since Disney will not add a fifth person to a standard value resort reservation, those who try to skirt the rules find they cannot take advantage of resort perks such as Extra Magic Hours and Magical Express.
