How to Design a Podiatry Office

The office design of a business has the ability to make clients feel at ease or anxious. In the case of medical offices this is even more important. To design a podiatry office that is pleasing to all, follow a few simple steps.

Instructions

1. Create a waiting room that is inviting by separating the check-in from the seating area. On the left-hand side, set up the computers and telephones needed to schedule appointments and check patients in.

2. On the right, set up between eight and 12 comfortable, cushioned chairs.

3. Place a flat-screen TV on the wall farthest from the chairs. This will give patients something else to concentrate on instead of their appointment.

4. Place a coffee table in the center of the room, between the chairs. Display magazines, brochures and children's books to provide patients with something to read as a distraction.

5. Install a door between the waiting area and the exam rooms.

6. On the exam side of the door, place exam rooms on the right-hand side. On the left-hand side, place an additional reception area with computers and phones.

7. At the end of the exam room hallway, place surgery-equipped exam rooms. The farther these are from the waiting room, the better.
