A lot of parents use baby-sitters at some point in time. For some it may be only one or two times a year and for others it may be several times a week. But sometimes it can be difficult to leave your child with someone (especially for the first time or so.) It is important to leave a contact or emergency list for a baby-sitter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

You can either buy a pre-made list, where you just fill-in different numbers and such, or you can make your own.

  2. Step 2

On your list make sure to include emergency numbers: Police, fire department, hospital, poison control, and 9-1-1.

  3. Step 3

Also include: your cell phone number, the address and phone number of where you will be going, other relatives number, a neighbors number. It is also a good idea to write down your street address.

  4. Step 4

Optional: the location of the fire extinguisher and first aid kit (you should show them when they first get there too)

  5. Step 5

I would suggest laminating your list and using a dry erase pen to fill in. Also, attaching a magnet to the back of it so you can put it on the fridge.

Tips & Warnings
  • Go over lists with the babysitter the first time they are there.
  • Make an additional copy for a backup.
