Improving your overall cardiac health is really not that hard. First, it is important that we get a certain amount of exercise on a daily basis. Exercise can be anything from walking, jogging, or spending 15 minutes on a treadmill. Exercise keeps weight regulated and helps the blood to flow through our arteries directly to the heart.

  2. Step 2

In addition, modifying our diet is critical for a healthy heart. Limiting cholesterol and fat intake can add years to your life. You may consider replacing saturated fats with corn oil and substitute butter spreads. Adding fruit to the daily diet can make a world of difference health wise.

  3. Step 3

Finally, make sure you visit a family doctor at least a few times a year and have your cholesterol tested at least once a year. Normally cholesterol testing is included in a complete CBC ordered by your physician.
