How to make caramel apple dip

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 package of caramels
  • 20 large marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • apples
  • popsicle sticks
  • toppings of your choice
  1. Step 1

Caramel apples are on of those all time favorite treats. Instead of buying them at the store why not make them at home. It takes little time and you can include your children and have fun together. You will need about 8 medium apples to start. You will insert popsicle sticks into the bottom. This is so you can hold the apple for dipping. You will need a medium sized microwave safe bowl.

  2. Step 2

To the bowl you will add one fourteen ounce package of caramels. Then place in the microwave uncovered for one minute on the high setting. Then pull the bowl out and add your marshmallows. Place back in the microwave on high for one minute or until the marshmallows are melted. You will need to stir this occasionally.

  3. Step 3

Once this mixture is all melted together you will need to whisk in the melted butter and heavy whipping cream. Once this is fully combined you can dip your apples. If you choose you can use apple slices instead. You must refrigerate all left overs. Once you dip your apples you can top them with the toppings of your choice. Coconut, candies, and nuts are some of the favorites.

on 11/4/2009 This sounds great. I've never added marshmallow to the Carmel.
