Have you been eyeing one of the new cell phones that have come on the market? Feeling like you got a bad deal on your current cell phone? Would you like to get out of your cell phone contract? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Believe it or not, you actually can get out of your cell phone contract without paying any penalty fees. Here’s how...

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cell phone contract
  • Desire to get out
  1. Step 1

First, go to sites like www.celltradeusa.com or www.cellswapper.com. Register on these sites so you can advertise your current situation. You will have to pay a small fee (generally less than $20) to post your situation on line. Why would someone decide to take up your contract? Well, there are many people out there who do not want to pay the activation fee and also be able to take on a shorter-term contract.

  2. Step 2

If you’re current situation is not attractive enough (i.e., your cell contract doesn’t involve relatively high number of minutes and/or low monthly fees), then you may want to advertise additional incentives like a cash payment. You can also offer your old phone as further incentive.

  3. Step 3

Once a buyer selects you, the website will provide instructions and help in the transfer process. You can even keep your old number, but you must make sure to indicate this (or follow directions).

on 8/22/2009 This is perfect for me, because I have lousy reception. If I stand on one leg with my right index finger elevated at the perfect spot at the back of my house, it might work. I really need to switch companies.
