How to make a custom brush in photoshop in just a few steps. It's easy and simple!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Photoshop
  1. Step 1
     

    Create a new document. (Ctrl+N. Dimensions is up to you! In my case 800x600 150 ppi

  2. Step 2
     

    In this case you are making a brush using a text layer but you can make a brush from a photo to! So ... make a text, in my case "eHow". The color of the text must be Black! Because when you are making a brush the script behind the tool is recognize black areas! That's why if you are trying to make a brush from a photo you have to turn it in Black and White! How tot turn a photo in B&W in next tutorial! So let's get back to work on our text!

  3. Step 3
     

    Go to Edit menu and select Define Brush Preset ... enter a brush name and the brush is ready!

  4. Step 4
     

    Select brush tool and go to the library brush using the right click on the canvas ... and the last brush is yours. In a next tutorial i will show how to custimyze the brush settings.
