Things You'll Need:
- Fortnight Lily Plant or seeds.
- Compost
- Water
- Fertilizer
-
Step 1
You can purchase a plant or seeds at your local Nursery. The flowers come in a variety of colors, I am familiar with the white flowers with yellow and purple accents in the middle. This plant is drought tolerant which is an added bonus when planning your garden.
-
Step 2
You can divide this plant which also helps promote more blooms. If you don't have a place for the extra plants, your neighbors may enjoy them as well. Water the plant the night before you decide to divide them, it makes the process easier if the soil is moist.

Step 3
Close up view of Fortnight Lily FlowerFortnight Lilies grow up to four feet tall. Plant in well-drained soil. They are also great container plants and take full sun. Planting them in borders or under tall trees is another option and adds beauty to your landscape.
-
Step 4
An important feature of the beautiful flowers is they are very low maintenance and bloom Spring through Fall. The flower only last one day but the plant keeps producing many blooms. They produce more blooms within a two week period. This plant will grow in full sun or partial shade. If you need more information go to: Floridate: Dietes iridioides.
