Full Tilt Poker (FTP) is a popular online poker site. The software is easy to download and the game play is easy to navigate. Once you have become acclimated to game play and are playing regularly, you may find it beneficial to show a bluff on occasion.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer Account at Full Tilt Poker
  1. Step 1
    FTP Table

    FTP Table

Look at a Full Tilt Poker online table. FTP tables feature 9 players per table, with each denoted by their FTP handle and chosen avatar. In the bottom right corner of your FTP screen are your game play controls. With these controls, you can fold, bet, raise, or check, as applicable.

  2. Step 2

Familiarize yourself with the "Auto-Muck" default. In any poker game, if a player bets and the other player(s) fold, then the bettor wins the pot, and she is not required to show her cards. In these situations, the FTP default is to automatically fold or muck the winner's cards. This speeds up the game, but removes a potential tactic from a poker player's playbook, namely the option to show a hand.

  3. Step 3
    FTP Main Lobby - Options

Go to the FTP main lobby, that is, the initial screen you see after you log into your FTP account, if you would like to have the option to show your hands. Click on "Options", then click on "Auto-Muck Hands", the 6th option below. The check mark there should disappear.

  4. Step 4
    FTP Show Hand Option

Now review how your options have now changed. With Auto-Muck disabled, if you win a hand because your opposition has folded, you will be presented at the bottom of your screen with the option to muck your hand, or to click on "Show Hand" when you want to show a bluff. If you do not choose either option within a few seconds, the program will muck your hand for you automatically.

  5. Step 5

Show a bluff when you desire.
