Instructions
-
-
1
Sweep or vacuum the floor regularly. Use a dust mop under furniture and around the edges of the room.
-
2
Clean the floor by applying a hardwood floor cleaner to a terrycloth mop designed for use with wood floors. Mop the floor and let it air dry.
-
-
3
Fix small damaged areas, less than 1" in diameter, by filling them with a putty designed for the purpose, like ColorFill. Larger areas should be fixed by replacing the damaged plank.
-
4
Don't use wax on the floor. It's not necessary and may cause buildup of dull deposits. Do not wet mop your floor. Wet mopping will cause the grain of the wood to lift, damaging the floor and creating a need to have the floor resurfaced.
-
5
Repair a dull and scratched floor by recoating with urethane.
-
6
Run a dehumidifier in the room with the hardwood if you live in a very humid climate. Excess humidity can cause the floor to warp. If your home is especially dry during the heating season, use a humidifier to prevent the wood from drying out.

Mohawk's scotchguard finish does make cleaning the hardwood floors way easier. My company has installed a lot of Mohawk's flooring over the years and since they added the scotchguard finish cleaning up after installation has gotten a lot easier.
