Combining wire and beads into jewelry is a satisfying and enjoyable craft that has become popular in recent years. When you make your own jewelry out of beads and wire that you choose yourself, the finished result will always be one-of-a-kind jewelry that is exactly what you want. Find some colorful beads and beading wire and spend a short time making a wire bracelet to wear proudly on your wrist.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tape measure Beading wire (24 gauge) Wire cutters Round nose pliers Chain nose pliers Eight beads (6-mm size) Nine jump rings (3-mm size) Closure clasp
  1. Step 1

Cut a 26-inch length of beading wire.

  2. Step 2

Make a wrapped loop at one end of the wire. Bend the wire into a 90-degree angle approximately 1 inch from the end of the wire. Pinch the wire firmly with the round nose pliers just after the bend in the wire. While pinching the wire firmly, wrap the wire around the pliers by rotating the pliers. Stop rotating the pliers when the wire is in a loop shape, and release the wire. Grasp the loop with the chain nose pliers, and use your fingers to tightly wrap the tail of wire around the base of the loop. Wrap the wire around three times tightly, and trim the excess wire off with the wire clippers. Tuck the sharp point of wire into the wrapped wire with the chain nose pliers.

  3. Step 3

Place a bead onto the wire and position it snugly at the wrapped loop. Make another wrapped loop on the other side of the bead to surround the bead with a wrapped loop on each side. Cut off the length of beading wire.

  4. Step 4

Repeat steps 2 and 3 with the remaining beading wire and seven beads to make eight bead links total.

  5. Step 5

Open a jump ring with the chain nose pliers, and place two wrapped loops from two bead links onto the jump ring. Close the jump ring with the chain nose pliers. Continue connecting the bead links by opening the jump rings and using them to connect the bead links.

  6. Step 6

Connect one half of the closure clasp to a bead link that is on the end of the line of connected bead links with a jump ring, using the same method as in step 5. Repeat with the other half of the closure clasp on the other end of the line of bead links to finish the bracelet.
