Things You'll Need:
- Ring mandrel or wooden dowel in the right size Wire snips 20-gauge wire Beads Needle-nose pliers
-
Step 1
Use your wire snips to cut a few feet of wire. If you want to wrap your wire more and make a bigger ring then you should cut a length of wire longer than 3 feet, if you want a smaller ring then you should cut your wire 3 feet or shorter.
-
Step 2
Place the mandrel or dowel at the middle of the length of wire and wrap the wire around it 3 to 4 times. When you are done wrapping bring the ends of the wire together at the front of the ring and twist them around each other once.
-
Step 3
Wrap each end of the wire around the band twice and bring them both back to the front of the ring. This will help to hold the band wires together, to keep them from spreading.
-
Step 4
String a bead onto one of the wire ends and bring it all the way down to the band of the ring. Messily wrap that wire end around the bead to hold it in place. There is no right or wrong way to do this; it is all about what looks good to you.
-
Step 5
Continue adding beads to the ends of the wire and wrapping the wire until you have the desired effect. Occasionally bring the wire down through the band to make the ring strong so that it won't snag on something and come partially undone.
-
Step 6
Wrap each end of the wire around the band 3 to 4 times on either side of the centerpiece of your ring. Snip the excess wire and tuck it in neatly to the band with the needle-nose pliers.
