Rub-on transfers are quickly replacing stickers in the scrapbooker's arsenal. Unlike stickers, transfers do not peel up over time and appear to be a permanent embellishment on the paper. Many designs of transfers are available at scrapbooking and craft stores. They are easy to use, they do not stick to one another, and there is no adhesive to worry about. You can use rub-on transfers in all your paper crafts including card making and paper jewelry as well as scrapbooking.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Rub-on transfers Scissors Craft stick
  1. Step 1

Cut out the transfer you wish to use. Rub-on transfers come on a sheet with several designs.

  2. Step 2

Peel the backing paper off the transfer, and set it face down on the surface you will be transferring to.

  3. Step 3

Rub the back of the transfer paper with a craft stick while holding the transfer steady so it doesn't slip around while you are rubbing. Rub over the back of the entire transfer.

  4. Step 4

Peel up one corner of the transfer. If it has transferred completely, you can peel off the entire paper. If not, carefully lay it back down and rub some more.

Tips & Warnings
  • A regular rubber eraser can be used to remove rub-on transfers. Overlap stamps or other embellishments on top the transfers for 3-D designs.
  • Store so that the backing won't get peeled off, as this will ruin the transfers.
