Things You'll Need:
- Printer, a little bit of time
-
Step 1
Look on local public golf course websites for the current deals and specials. There are usually email lists on each site that you may subscribe to. They will send you their weekly specials and updates.
-
Step 2
Depending on your age you may qualify for the junior/senior rates. These rates are a fraction of the cost to play at a regular rate.
-
Step 3
Book your tee times online. Sites like www.golfnow.com will show you available times and rates. They will even go as far as showing you the percentage you will save by booking online. You may have to submit credit card information.
-
Step 4
Consider playing your game later in the day if possible. Many people like to start their round of golf bright and early in the morning. However the later you play the less you pay. There are special twilight rates for players that decide to play in the afternoon. This is especially convenient in the summer where it gets dark later. You can start a game around 4 or 5 in the afternoon and still complete 18 holes.
-
Step 5
Many courses allow you to pay a flat rate for a monthly or annual pass. If you are someone who plays at your local course multiple times a week you may save a lot of money going this route.
-
Step 6
Deciding to get exercise and walking instead of riding a cart will save you a ton of money.
