      OK, so you can sit on your butt and stay indoors with your air conditioner on all day if you want. Remember though, nothing is free! OK then, your a penny pincher are you, go hang out in your local indoor mall all day then or better yet do like Al Bundy did with his family and take your beach chairs and hang out at the freezer section of your local super market. Those are practical ideas but what else can you do to beat the summer heat?

      A good way for men to stay cool is to wear a guayabera. They shirts are sometimes called Mexican wedding shirts or bowling shirts. These shirts are actually made to keep you cool and are to be worn untucked.

      Another way to stay cool is to cool your pulse points on your body. What this means is running some cold water for a couple of minutes on your wrist and then maybe putting some cold water on your face and temple area. Of course drinking lots of water will not hurt. Drink water even if you are not thirsty so it can cool your body. Stay away from the soda as this will only dehydrate you more.

      If you are trying to stay cool then you probably will want to stay away from big, giant meals. Big, protein-laden meals force your body to stoke its metabolic fires. The solution is to break up your eating into smaller, more frequent meals. You'll feel cooler - and it's better for you, anyway.

      In hot weather it's not unusual for people to have a hard time sleeping. Fill up a water bottle with ice water. Use it to cool your ankles and the back of your knees . Keeping your head cool will keep your entire body cool. Opt for a cool and absorbent pillow of organic cotton it at all possible. Another good idea is to put your sheets in the freezer for an hour or two before bed.

      Don't wear your shoes or hat while indoors. Much of the body's heat is released through the soles of the feet, the palms of the hands, and the scalp. Keeping these areas cool makes a surprising difference.
      Wear Light Colors: Darker colors will absorb the sun's rays and be warmer.

      If you're in a situation where you can go without clothes, this can be the most comfortable, natural way to stay cool. For instance, I'm dying in the heat of my house right now and am going to take advantage of the opportunity I have right now. I'm going to strip off my clothes and go jump in the shower!
