Whitening teeth doesn't have to be difficult, time consuming, or expensive. This guide will teach you how to visibly whiten your teeth effectively and cheaply, in time for a wedding, prom, or any other reason you may want whiter teeth!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

The first step is brushing your teeth with a whitening tooth paste when you wake up in the morning, and before you go to bed at night. Brush after every meal, such as breakfast or dinner. Crest plus Scope whitening is perfect for this.

  2. Step 2
It may taste bad, but it is effective at short term teeth whitening!

It may taste bad, but it is effective at short term teeth whitening!

Once a day, take a small amount of baking soda, wet your toothbrush, dab the brush in the soda, and gently brush your teeth. I recommend Arm and Hammer baking soda. Be sure to only do this once a day, as baking soda is not easy on the gums. Make sure to not brush hard, and if the taste is too poor, mix it with a small amount of toothpaste.

  3. Step 3

Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. The water will not only help whiten your teeth, but it's good for your health, too. If you don't like water or think this a lot to drink, space it out throughout the day. Remind yourself this is for a good cause: A better smile.

Tips & Warnings
  • Whitening gum can be very helpful, and can be easily substituted for sweet candy.
  • Avoid staining foods and candy, such as spaghetti, skittles, coffee, pop, anything heavy in tomato sauce, or sugar!
  • Green tea is also effective at whitening teeth, and if you can't stand the taste of water,is a great substitute for it. Be sure to buy the kind you boil, not prepackaged, as it is highly sweetened!
  • Be cautious not to swallow the baking soda, and to stop brushing if your mouth starts to hurt or bleed.
