Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Diabetes is a disease that has been around for centuries and can be quite serious if it is not treated properly. Diabetes results from the Pancreas failing to produce sufficient insulin for the breakdown of sugars within the body. With proper treatment, a diabetic can live a healthy and productive life. It is when diabetes goes untreated that a person may begin to develop severe problems.

Possible symptoms of diabetes are weight gain, weight loss, change in appetite, frequent thirst, dizziness, tiredness, and noticeable cuts that fail to heal properly. Proper diagnosis is key in controlling this condition. Untreated diabetes can lead to organ damage, loss of limbs, poor circulation, blindness and even death.

  3. Step 3

Your physician can run a blood test to determine if you in fact do have diabetes. In many cases, diabetic conditions tend to run in families.
