How to Use Shirt Stays

Having a shirt come untucked and having to retuck it several times throughout the day can be frustrating. That is why shirt stays were created: to keep a shirt in place straight and strong throughout the day. Shirt stays are inexpensive and easy to use; thus, it's not a big deal to wear them on a daily basis if you have to wear formal or work attire regularly. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Put on your dress shirt and dress socks. Make sure your socks are long enough to come up to about mid-calf.

    • 2

Clamp one end of a shirt stay to the outer edge of one sock. Repeat on the opposite sock with another shirt stay.

    • 3

Slowly stretch the shirt stay up and clamp the other end of the shirt stay to the end of the shirt. Repeat on the opposite sock.

    • 4

Stand up straight and make sure the shirt stays are snug - not so tight that it restricts movement or causes you to hunch but taut so the shirt is straight and pulled down.

    • 5

Pull on your pants making sure the shirt continues to stay down.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ask an associate for help with length and sizing if you have questions or are confused with the different options.

  • Keep your shirt outside your underwear. Do not tuck it in, as the shirt will crinkle.
