Most modern cell phones are capable of sending SMS text messages, which stands for short message service. Text messages are typically sent between cell phone users by going to the "Messages" section of a phone's menu, but if you do not have a cell phone, you can use the SMS Everywhere free online service to send SMS messages.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with internet access
  1. Step 1

Go to the SMS Everywhere homepage (see Resources below) in any standard web browser.

  2. Step 2

Click on the "Send a Message" link in the upper-right corner of the site.

  3. Step 3

Enter the 10-digit phone number, including the area code, of the cell phone you wish to send an SMS text message to in the "Send To" field.

  4. Step 4

Type the message that you want to send into the "Message" field. Text messages from SMS Everywhere have a 150-character limit, and the site counts down as you use up characters.
