How to Wear Ponchos

Wear ponchos for protection against rain at stadiums or any outdoor event. Many stadiums do not allow spectators to bring umbrellas because they block patrons' vision and can be used as weapons. Rain ponchos are more lightweight and compact than rain jackets. They slip on as quickly as shawls. A poncho provides coverage for everything but a person's lower legs.

Instructions

    • 1

Unfold the nylon fabric and locate the hood. Set the hood up to be on the outside after you slip it on.

    • 2

Put the poncho over yourself. Place your head through the central hole with the hood toward the back. Ponchos fall over your body like shawls do.

    • 3

Snap the sleeves. Extend your arms straight out to the sides with your head inside the hood. Secure the snaps below both wrists to form sleeves. The snaps tend to pop open and may need to be secured repeatedly.
