Things You'll Need:
- Box Gift Clear Scotch tape Scissors Pencil or Pen
-
Step 1
Put the item in a box if doesn't come in one. Boxes are the easiest shape to wrap because they have four straight edges. Objects with curves are much harder to wrap and usually end up looking messy, no matter how well you wrapped the object.
-
Step 2
Draw a line down the middle of the top of the box.
-
Step 3
Unroll a long sheet of wrapping paper on the floor or a large table, and set the box in the middle of it. Move the box so that you can fold one edge of the paper over to the top center line of the box. Fold the other edges over to see if they meet at the top center line of the box.
-
Step 4
Mark the paper where it meets the top center line of the box.
-
Step 5
Cut off excess paper until all of the edges meet at the top center line of the box when folded over.
-
Step 6
Tape the paper on the right side of the box to the top center line with a small piece of clear tape. Repeat with the left side. You should now have what looks like wings coming from the sides of the box
-
Step 7
Turn the box so that one of the wings is facing you. Put your thumb on each side of the wing and push it inward. This will give you two triangular shapes. Tape the edge that meets the box down with a small piece of tape.
-
Step 8
Fold the bottom triangle up and give the fold a sharp crease by running along it with a fingernail. Tape the triangle by putting a small piece of clear tape on the point and sticking it to the package. Repeat this step with the top fold, but fold it down instead of up.
-
Step 9
Turn the box around so that the other wing is facing you and fold it as in Step 8.
-
Step 10
Run your thumb and index finger along all of the edges of the package to give the wrapping paper a nice crease.
