Sometimes during the installation process, excess mastic may get left on the surface of the tile. This is nothing to worry about, as removing mastic is a simple procedure that can be done within a few minutes using nothing more than warm water and a sponge.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water Sponge
  1. Step 1

Use warm water and a sponge and dampen the mastic.

  2. Step 2

Let sit for a few minutes. Using the sponge, gently scrub the mastic until it comes off.

  3. Step 3

Let the area dry for a few minutes. Check to ensure all the mastic is removed. If it is not, simply repeat the process until all the mastic has been removed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Water softens mastic so it is incredibly easy to remove. If mastic is stubborn, you can use a scrubbing brush instead of a sponge for the initial removal. Use the sponge for cleaning up after the scrubbing.
