Instructions

  1. Putting your lesson plans together

    • 1

Assemble each of your lesson plans for the course you are teaching.

    • 2

Label each lesson plan for the week and day the lesson plan will be delivered.
For example, the lesson plan for the first day should be labeled: Day1-Week1. The second day of the course should be Day2-Week1. (This assumes you are teaching a class that meets at least twice a week.)

    • 3

Make a master page for all of your lesson plans. Open up Microsoft Word, then type "Basketweaving 101" or whatever the name of the course is.

    • 4

Under the title, make a list of all the lesson plans you will be using for the course:
      Day1,-Week1
      Day2-Week1
      Day3-Week2, etc.

    • 5

Save the main page by clicking File > Save As. Type in the file name as:
      basketweaving101.htm
      Select "Web Page (*.htm,*.html)".
Click the Save button, then navigate to the directory in which you want to save your lesson plans.

    • 6

Put each of your lesson plans into Microsoft Word format by cutting and pasting them into blank Microsoft Word pages.

    • 7

Save each lesson plan. Click File > Save As > Other Formats.

    • 8

Make a Web page. Save all the lesson plans with the appropriate file names as shown in the image.
The type you should select is "Web Page (*.htm, *.html)".
Click the Save button, and your lesson plan will now be a Web page saved in the same directory in which you put the main page.

    • 9

Link to each of your lesson plans. After you have saved all of your lesson plans with the appropriate file names, you are ready to finish putting together your master page.
Open the file basketweaving101.htm with Microsoft Word, then click the "Insert" tab, then select the "Hyperlink" button.

    • 10

Navigate to the directory and select the appropriate lesson plan. You will see a new screen that will enable you to find the directory and the lesson plan files.
Make sure you select the file that matches the link you have highlighted.

    • 11

Link each of the lesson plans from the main page.

    • 12

Save your main page (basketweaving101.htm). Click the "Save" button.

You are now ready to put your lesson plans on your school's server.

You will now see the names of your files display as they are being put on the server.

    • 17

View your Web pages. Open up a browser and type in the URL to your school's Web server:
      http://www.yourschoolname.edu/basketweaving101.htm
You should now see your master page with links to your individual lesson plans.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't use the dates of your classes, instead use: "Day 1" and "Week 1". This way you do not have to change your Web page each time a new semester starts.
