How to Find Percent Error
Percent error is a way to show deviation between a predicted or initial value and an actual or second value. This technique is especially useful for comparing two different deviations whose initial values aren't comparable. To calculate percent error, you need a basic knowledge of what percentage is as well as arithmetic skills.

Write down the initial or estimated value.

Subtract the second, or actual, value from the initial value. Label this the difference.

Divide the difference by the actual value and write it down.

Multiply the value written down in step 3 by 100; this is your percent error.
