3. Compare brand-name and store-brand hair care products. Usually, the store brand stacks up to the brand name quite well. However, you should read through the ingredients to ensure the products are the same before purchasing one. Buying store brand could save you some money if both products are exactly the same.

4. Search for products that match your hair type. You'll want to find a product for smoothing and guarding your hair against heat if you have coarse, curly hair and straighten it on a regular basis. Find a volumizing product for fine hair, and a moisturizing and curling product for curly hair.
