How to Change the Combination on a Winchester Gun Safe
Winchester Gun Safes are popular items to store guns safely and securely. They also can be used to store other valuable items, such as jewelry or important paperwork. The gun safes have an electronic lock that can be opened with a six-digit combination code. These codes can be changed at any time.

1
With the gun safe door open and the locking bolts extended, enter six zeroes (0-0-0-0-0-0) into the digital lock. This will tell the lock you are changing the combination code.

2
After you hear two beeps, enter the original combination code. If you have just received the safe from the factory, its initial combination code is 1-2-3-4-5-6.

After you hear two beeps, enter the new combination code. It can be any combination of numbers as long as it has six digits and it is not 0-0-0-0-0-0. Winchester Gun Safes recommends you change the factory set combination of 1-2-3-4-5-6 as soon as possible.

After two more beeps, enter the new combination code again.
-
5
After two more beeps, the new combination code should be programmed into the lock. Wait at least 10 seconds, then enter the new combination one more time to test it. If you are able to turn the door handle, then you have successfully changed the combination. If you can't turn the door handle, then the combination has not been changed and you need to repeat the process.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure the combination code is easy to remember, but if there are children in the house, don't let them know the combination or make it easy for them to guess the combination.
The door to the gun safe should always be open while changing the combination code on the electronic lock. Winchester Gun Safes also recommends you verify the combination code at least five times with the door open before closing it.
