How to Increase eBay Sales With Free Internet Marketing Techniques

As an eBay seller, it can be frustrating when listing an item that has to compete with many very similar items. Creating an eBay listing that stands out among the crowd is very difficult and almost impossible for a beginner. However, there are internet marketing strategies that can be used to provide increased results without creating the perfect listing or attention grabbing title. The following internet marketing strategies are both free and fairly simple to use, providing most any eBay seller with the potential to increase sales.

  1. Step 1

    Use Your Listings:
    While this first step would not necessarily be put under the internet marketing strategies category, it is the quickest and easiest way to increase eBay sales and is done when creating each listing.
    With this method, it is as simple as adding a 'See My Other Listings' link at the bottom of each listing page. You will find a standard link at the top of the description box for this method.

  2. Step 2

    Free Classifieds:
    There are many free classifieds sites available online that provide a great opportunity for free marketing of your listings. Not only can you list your items (with a link to your eBay listing), but you can also find potential buyers in the 'wanted' section. Sites such as Craigslist and Kijiji are a good place to start.

  3. Step 3

    Forums/Social Sites:
    Social Websites and Forums provided many free internet marketing strategies. Not only can you place a link to your listings in your profile area on many of them, but you can also search discussions in niche forums to find others asking about or searching for products of interest. You can then provide anyone searching for a product that you have listed with a direct link.
    Some of the most popular social sites include MySpace, Facebook and Twitter, however there are many others.

  4. Step 4

    eBay Resources:
    You can find many ways to increase sales without ever leaving the eBay website. The best way to begin is to search the 'Want It Now' Listings for those searching for items similar to those you have listed. The 'Want It Now' listings are similiar to that of a wanted section of the classifieds. You will find a link to these listings by visiting the site map located at the top of every page, then look under the Selling Activites heading.
    Participating in the eBay forums and community is another way to increase exposure to your listings and find more ideas for promotion as well.

  5. Step 5

    For more ideas for free internet marketing strategies, simply search 'free internet marketing strategies' or 'free internet marketing' to find many more ways to promote your listings. A small amount of marketing can go along way to increasing exposure to your eBay items.
