How to Use a Melon Baller for Various Things

A melon baller was made to scoop melon out into perfectly small round balls. The majority of melon ballers come with two different shapes on each end attached to either a wooden, plastic, or metal handle. If you are not big on melon you may think the tool is useless. However there are many different ways you can use a melon baller other then just scooping melon. So put your baller to work in these various ways.

1. - REMOVE THE SEEDS FROM FRUIT AND VEGGIES-
   
   Rotate the tool around the center of the fruit or veggie to remove any seeds. You can use it on any fruit like apples, pears, papaya, etc. Then there are cucumbers, bell peppers, squash, and tomatoes.

2. - SCOOP PERFECT BALLS OF VARIOUS FRUITS -
   
   If you want to make a beautiful fruit salad then use the melon baller on all sorts of fruits to make perfect bite sized balls. You can even get creative and place a scoop of any fruit into drinks for guests at party.

3. - SCOOP ICE CREAM OR SHERBET -
   
   If you do not have an ice cream scooper then use a melon ball. They will come out on cute little balls and you can even mix and match different flavors together in a bowl. This looks really cute when you are serving ice cream to children or during a party.

4. - PERFECTLY ROUNDED MINI COOKIES -
   
   whatever dough you are using simply scoop out a rounded spoonful of dough onto your cookie sheet. They will turn out smaller then regular sized cookies so its perfect for just a small sample. The small size is also cute for children since they will be pop-able! Just remember to decrease the amount of baking time.

5. - SHAPE MINI MEATBALLS -
   
   The melon baller is the perfect size for making meatballs. Scoop perfect round meatballs out of your favorite mixture and cook the way you always do. Much easier then rolling each one by hand.

6. - MAKING MINI SOUP DUMPLINGS -
   
   The size is perfect for making small soup dumplings like matzo balls.

7. There are endless ways you can use a melon baller. Even let your children use it in the sand if you choose, just make sure to wash it well!
