1
Purchase your tiebacks. Make sure that you are choosing tiebacks that will work for the type of curtains that you have. For example, if you have a heavier fabric curtain, the tieback that you choose should have deeper hooks to hold the extra fabric.
-
2
Mark the location where you want to install your tiebacks on your wall. Place your one of your tiebacks against the wall and use the pencil to mark a line at the top of the tieback and also mark the hole or holes. This will help you line the tieback up properly.

3
Repeat step 2 for the other side and tieback, making sure that you are keeping them aligned with one another. If you need to, you can use the measuring tape to measure from the top of the window frame to the line you marked for the top of the tieback and then apply that same length to the other side, making a small mark for you to use as a guide for the top of the second tieback.

4
Place a tieback on the line you marked, lining up the holes with the hole marks you made.
-
5
Use the screwdriver to screw in the proper screws for how many holes your tieback has.
-
6
Tug gently on the tieback when you have screwed in the screws to make sure it will not fall out of the wall.
-
7
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the other side and tieback.
