Negotiating airline ticket prices can be difficult if not impossible. Ticket prices are not typically up to a customer service representative's discretion, but are fixed, making negotiation or bargaining impractical.

Customer Service

In an attempt to negotiate airline ticket prices, it is usually best to call the airline directly and speak with customer service. While the representatives will probably not be able to change ticket prices for you, they will be able to tell you when the least expensive ticket prices are available, and possibly give you a reduced rate using a corporate rate, travel membership or other means.

Travel Agents

Travel agents often attempt to negotiate airline rates on your behalf. Even if the travel agency is unable to negotiate the ticket to your desired price, it may offer a price that fits within your budget.

Travel Sites

Another effective means of third-party airline ticket price "negotiation" is to go through a large travel website. These sites make deals with airlines to provide you with the best possible ticket prices. Simply enter your travel information and choose the best deal.
