How to Enter Kenwood CD Player Codes

Most new automobiles have CD changers as part of the audio system. Audio systems are frequently the targets of thieves, but audio system manufacturers have made the theft of automobile audio components such as CD players more of a moot point with the inclusion of security systems. Without the proper security code response, the CD player will not operate. The following instructions cover the setting up of a security code on a Kenwood model KDCMPV7019.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Press the SRC button to begin setting a four-digit security code, then select the "All Off" display. Press "Menu" for 1 second. "Security" will be displayed. Press the << or >> arrows for 1 second. "Code" will be displayed.

  2. Step 2

    Press the << or >> arrows to select the first digit of the security code. Press the FM or the AM button to lock in the digit chosen.

  3. Step 3

    Repeat Step 2 for the each of the other 3 digits of the security code.

  4. Step 4

    Confirm the security code by pressing the >> arrow for at least 3 seconds. "Re-enter" will be displayed, and then "Code." Re-enter the security code by carrying out steps 2-3. When done, "Approved" will be displayed and the security code will be activated.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you make an error in entering a digit, go back to Step 2 and start over.
