How to Detox Your Bowels

Detoxification of your bowels can help you feel more energized. The process can also help slim your waistline. Above all, detoxing will eliminate harmful waste from your body. Without detoxing, this waste will continue to accumulate, making you feel tired and lethargic. You are also more likely to get sick. Detoxing your body translates into cleaning your bowels and eliminating junk food, alcohol, drugs, and processed foods and sugars, which clog your bowels and result in sluggish waste elimination.

      Eliminate meat from your diet. While in the process of detoxifying your bowels, you need to eat a healthy diet primarily made up of fruits and vegetables.

      Drink plenty of water. Water helps flush the toxins out of your body. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day.

      Take psyllium and water. Ground psyllium is available in health food stores. Mix a teaspoon of psyllium in 8 ounces of water, and drink it three times a day.

      Drink an additional 8 ounces of water. You need to drink another glass of water after taking the psyllium and water mixture to help flush the psyllium through your system.

      Continue taking the psyllium for at least week. Psyllium is natural and can be taken until your body eliminates regularly.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can drink juice with psyllium.

  • Discontinue use of psyllium if you do not eliminate within a few days. Ask your doctor if you have medical concerns regarding the use of psyllium.
