Tips & Warnings
For further details about what memory your motherboard may take, select "motherboard," under "hardware." Write down the model of the motherboard and use a search engine to find the specifications for your motherboard, including preferred memory brands and compatible memory types and speeds.
Mixing memory types on a motherboard may result in an inability of the motherboard to use all memory types to their full potential speeds. Alternately, mixing of memory types may result in a motherboard that is unable to use one or more memory modules altogether.
