Most people find that they have some rather unsightly scars. The more-revealing clothing of the spring and summer seasons tends to make us more self-conscious about any visible scars that we have. Many different kinds of scars can be made less conspicuous by using scar creams, such as surgery scars, scars from injuries, acne scars and stretch marks. Scar removal creams can drastically reduce the appearance of most types of scars if you apply them correctly.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 20 grams scar removal cream (for up to 3-inch scar) or 50 grams scar removal cream (for up to 10-inch scar)
  1. Step 1

Purchase a scar removal cream in an amount that suits the length of the scar(s) that you are trying to remove. Each package contains the amount that you will need to use daily for three months.

  2. Step 2

Apply a thin layer of the scar removal cream along the length and width of the scar. Use a gentle massaging motion to help the skin absorb the cream. Apply the cream two to four times daily for new scars and three to four times daily for older scars.

  3. Step 3

Allow the area to dry before covering.

  4. Step 4

Repeat as many times as specified for the particular age of your scar. Always follow the instructions included with the cream.

Tips & Warnings
  • Scar removal creams do not completely remove scars; they only change the appearance of scars so that they are less noticeable. Also, a newer scar will be easier to treat than an older scar. Older scars should be treated with the cream for a longer duration; instead of the two-month time frame for new scars, up to six months of continued application may be required to see results on older scars.
  • Never apply a scar removal cream to an open wound; the injury must be completely healed, with no visible openings or scabs.
