An unlisted telephone number is one that is not present in a standard phone book. It has no contact information associated with it because the person that belongs to the phone number does not want people to be able to immediately identify them. This will not, however, impede your ability to return a call if you miss one from an unlisted telephone number. Whether you are on a cell phone or a land-line house phone, you can still call back an unlisted telephone number.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A phone
  1. Step 1

Press the "SEND" button on your cell phone. If you've missed a call from an unlisted telephone number on your cell phone, pressing the "SEND" button on your phone's keypad will bring up a list of recently received and missed calls.

  2. Step 2

Highlight the phone number using your phone's arrow keys. Once the unlisted phone number is highlighted, press the "SEND" button on your phone once again to call that number.

  3. Step 3

Dial "*69" on your house phone. *69 is a service that allows users of land-line house phones to immediately call back the last number they received a call from.

  4. Step 4

Press "SEND" on your house phone. Once you've dialed *69, this will inform your telephone network that you'll be calling back the last number that called you, despite the fact that you don't actually have access to that number. Pressing the "SEND" button on your phone will initiate the call, and the unlisted telephone number will automatically be redialed.
