How to Wash Leather Sneakers

Shoes are made of various different materials, some of which are easier to care for than others. Leather sneakers can be especially difficult to care for and clean because you cannot simply throw them in your washing machine. You can, however, use leather shoe wax and a few other materials to clean your leather sneakers. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

      Remove the shoe laces from your leather sneakers before you start the cleaning process. This will also allow you to clean the entire shoe, including the tongue.

      Dampen a wash cloth and remove any dirt from the surface of the shoe. Let the shoe dry for about 20 minutes after you have cleaned the dirt off.

      Take another dry wash cloth and dip it into your canister of shoe polish. Apply the polish to the shoe in a circular motion.

      Let the shoe polish dry for 5 to 10 minutes. The shoe should change appearance and begin to look dull.

      Take another dry wash cloth and remove any extra polish that remains on the shoe. The leather shoe should now appear brand new.
