How to Crochet a Round Blanket

Round blankets are ideal for a practical yet decorative touch in the family room. Round blankets are also nice for babies and small pets. Making a round blanket is also a good way to use leftover yarn. You can make a round blanket with simple crochet stitches. Crochet the blanket as large as you want to.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • L hook Yarn
  1. Step 1
     

    Attach one or two strands of yarn on to your crochet hook. Double strands will create a heavier, warmer blanket.

  2. Step 2
     

    Make a chain of four stitches.

  3. Step 3
     

    Join with slip stitch to form a ring.

  4. Step 4
     

    Crochet eight single crochets in the ring. Slip stitch to join.

  5. Step 5
     

    Crochet two single crochets in each single crochet around. Slip stitch to join.

  6. Step 6
     

    Crochet one single crochet in each single crochet around. Slip stitch to join.

  7. Step 7

    Continue crocheting Step 6 and step 7 until the blanket is the size that you want.

  8. Step 8

    Make a slip stitch in every single crochet around the outer edge of the blanket. Cut the yarn about three inches from the last slip stitch. Weave the end into the blanket to hide it.
