I wrote an article on "How to Apply for Educational Assistant Position at GovernmentJobs.com". The link can be found on the Related Articles at the bottom on this page. It might be helpful to those who wanted to find jobs as educational or teacher assistants. Assuming that you were contacted for request of interview in that position, the following guides or experiences will show you how to prepare for an interview:

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

A few days before the Interview. Visit the school or office where the interview takes place. Ask where and be familiar with the building.

  2. Step 2

Know the names of the interviewers such as the name of the principal, assistant principal, administrative officer, District staff and others. Make some research. If you have Internet access, you can just simply Google the name of the school and look for the faculty and staff button. Read also some important information of the school.

  3. Step 3

Make a portfolio such as your resume, training, educational background, references and other documents you that you think it might be helpful. Do not rely on your resume alone. At least you have something to show in case they will ask for proofs. Do not show it to them unless they ask you to show.

  4. Step 4

Read more information or other people's experience of the job interview. You can find tons of resources in the Internet. Read and take note some points.

  5. Step 5

Prepare a good dress of the Interview. Make it ready at least the day before the interview.

  6. Step 6

On the Interview day. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. Be confident but it is okay if you feel nervous. You can tell them that you are nervous and then as the interview or series of questions going on, you will can overcome it and become more confident and comfortable. Maintain eye to eye contact and listen carefully. Make a firm handshake and don't forget to smile.
