So you've been to Mexico, had the best mojitos you've ever tasted, and are now at a loss on how to make them at home? Have no fear. This recipe will get you as close to an authentic mojito as I have tasted.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Raw cane sugar
  • 1 lime
  • 4 mint leaves
  • 2 ounces rum or vodka
  • 2 ounces club soda
  • Ice, preferably crushed
  • Collins glass
  • Fruit juicer
  • Muddler
  1. Step 1

Place the mint leaves in the glass. Make sure you rinse them before using!

  2. Step 2

Squeeze the juice out of the lime with a juicer, and pour juice over the mint leaves. It is easier to get the juice out of the lime after you roll it on a counter. If you don't have a juicer, just cut the lime in half and squeeze each side well.

  3. Step 3

Add the sugar and gently smash the mint leaves with the muddler. If you don't have a muddler, you can use the back of a spoon or the handle of a knife to crush the mint leaves.

  4. Step 4

Add the ice, liquor and stir.

  5. Step 5

Top it off with the club soda and serve!
