In order to find the best promotional agencies, get with the agencies that will give you more work. There are some that are better than others in terms of pay rate, events, and organization (because no one wants to work for a shady agency).

1. The best way to find lots of great agencies it to google "promotional agencies" or "staffing agencies." A long list of agencies will pop up from all across the nation. Don't worry whether or not a particular agency is from your town or city. They don't have to be if the agency is nationwide. They have bookers who will book you for an event in Chicago even if their headquarter is in New York.

2. Secondly, visit http://www.craigslist.com/. Go to your state/city and look under GIGS category. You will find the most promotional opportunities under "events," "talent," and "creative"

3. Finally, check out http://www.eventspeak.com/. This is the largest promotional work database that list current job opportunities in your area. The best thing about EventSpeak is that they advertise a lot of long-term promotional jobs as well as ads seeking tour management and promoting. Tour promotion is very lucrative but BA's need to be prepared to be on the road LONG days and okay with being away from home for weeks or months at a time.

   Also, EventSpeak gives comments on other agencies to work for and other's to avoid!

4. You can find the best promotional agencies by asking around. Seems obvious, but this is oftentimes overlooked. I have ran into several promotional models who are constantly looking for more work with good agencies. Don't be afraid to exchange contact information. Models and brand ambassadors that have been doing promotions know the industry and are better equipped with information that can help you.

• Never discuss payrate and other promotional agencies to other models/ambassadors while working an event. Save all questions and comments after the event is over. Many agencies don't want you disclosing company compesation and competition info with other workers. It is considered unprofessional.
