It's a good idea to inspect your washing machine hoses regulary. Ignoring a damage washing machine hose can cause you serious problems, and damages in the future. Washing machine hoses comes in two
types stainless steel reinforced hoses and reinforced rubber hoses. Regardless of the hose that you may choose, they can both fail.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    To replace a worn hose first shut off water supply to your washing machine, remove the old hose by unscrewing the coupling from the water faucet. Then unscrew the other end from the inlet opening to the
    back of the washing machine.

  2. Step 2

    When purchasing your new washing machine hose take the old hose with you for comparison. This is to make sure you get the right hose for your washing machine.

    Washing machine hoses can be purchased at most hardware stores, plumbing supply outlets, and hardware stores.

  3. Step 3

    Before installing the new hose insert a flat washer into each end of the inlet hoses. Check the washer and make sure it is firmly seated in the coupling.

    Most inlet are plastic. Do not strip or cross thread.

  4. Step 4

    Next attach the new hose to the inlet valve opening. Tighten coupling by hand. Then use pliers to make an additional two-thirds turn.

  5. Step 5

    Attach the other end of the hose to the faucet. Tightening coupling to faucet by hand. Then use pliers to make final two-thirds turn.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before attaching water inlet hoses, run water through both faucets to get rid of particles in water lines.
