Things You'll Need:

  • Search Engine
  • Michael Jackson CD
  • Michael Jackson DVD
  • Michael Jackson MP3
  • Michael Jackson Books
  • Michael Jackson Memorabilia
  • Family and/or Friends
  1. Step 1

Take pride in your emotions and feelings about the loss of Michael Jackson. You will remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard about the death of this important human. Truly we are all important individuals; but there are those who influence and enrich our lives more than most. When you run into people who say they don't really care about the death of a celebrity, understand that they are actually in denial of their intimate connection to humanity; and that is sad.

  2. Step 2

If you are not already a member of a Michael Jackson fan club, then join one. If there is not a local chapter, start your own local fan club starting with your friends and family. When you are around other people who understand and feel your loss, you heal sooner and appreciate the value of life again.

  3. Step 3

Whether you are alone or in a fan club meeting, use your Michael Jackson CD, DVD, MP3, Books and other memorabilia to celebrate the life, influences and contributions of this incredible artist. Learn to appreciate the great things he left behind instead of focusing on the lost potential or even the human flaws that were so magnified under the media microscope.

  4. Step 4

Some people choose to avoid all reminders of that individual. While avoidance seems to work immediately, in the long run for your own health, you will have to deal with your loss.

  5. Step 5

If you find yourself slipping into the deepest emotional sorrow that sometimes surrounds the loss of a loved one, use your favorite search engine to find additional coping skills or even professional help.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to be aware of your inner conversation and stop yourself when you start to think negative thoughts that lead to more negative thoughts. This downward spiral will not end well! Talk to friends and family about your thoughts. The more you talk, the easier it gets and the sooner the sun will shine in your life again.

on 12/8/2009 Thanks for such a great article. Some may think that it is crazy for those that have never physically met him, but it took a toll on me. I pray that his death reminded people how to truly those that they say they admire. His life was spent trying to show his fans that he loved them and not all the time was the loyalty reciprocated. But, thank God for those with hearts like his. Peace
