Step 1
Take your boxer for a long walk before you go to work and after you come home from work.
-
Step 2
Bored boxer contemplating next moveAvoid leaving your dog inside all day. Install a doggie door so that your boxer can romp in the yard and bark at the mail carrier. A boxer will be less destructive when he can go outside to play and inside for a drink or a nap on the sofa.
-
Step 3
Keep boxers active with toysGive your dog adequate toys to play with throughout the day. This will prevent him from chewing on your shoes or furniture.
-
Step 4
Arrange for a dog walker to visit your boxer while you are at work or away for the day. Many dog walkers will interact with your dog by playing a game as well as taking them for a walk. Human interaction will prevent your boxer from becoming destructive.
-
Step 5
Hire a trainer and register your dog up for relay races or fly ball sports at your local kennel club.

on 6/28/2009 I remember a boxer we had 50 years ago and what I remember most was his energy and digging. They definitely need to be kept active.
